[ Experts, please help!]
One of my learners asked me (in English), '' lesh al 3ada assirriyya 7aram...when some doctors say that it can actually prevent cancer and other diseases down below?!''.
My reply was, '' Er... Ummm Sorry; I don't really know, but I can find out for you.''
I was given no other details of who said what or anything else. I didn't particularly want to dwell on the issue. Problem is, is there any truth in the claim (s) and who do I ask if need answers to questions of this nature?

Salam akhi,
I make no claims to be an expert on cancer, or on Islamic jurisprudence, but I am aware that there are claims and then there are counter claims with regard to the issue as it relates to cancer. But that should not be the starting point of a Muslim's inquiries - there are numerous Islamic sources which offer advice and rulings ranging from haram to haram, but permissible only under certain circumstances.
