a man should only have 1 wife- unless she states otherwise- and although the prophet pbuh had many none of you guys out there are even as good as his shoe-
the age fo the prophet pbuh was different to ours- the wife will not share her husband- i beleve thats the way it should be-
we all know ayesha ra was 9 when she married the prophet pbuh but in todays day and age this is considered........
and i would vote if i knew what all the options were!

Polygamy, yes and no, perhaps a bigger NOOOO than Yes!
In Social Sciences, they teach indirectly how polygamy can be beneficial to society.
Religiously, it has its rules according to times and places and hours and seconds and miliseconds and... I mean by that, polygamy is acceptable but has rules that go with it and I think a man will just burden himself with a hundred women with him, I don't understand how they deal with all that, but again it depends what society one lives in and what kind of women are around ehm.
But deep down, not that I hate it, can't say I do feel any hatred because that would make me hate something that Allah made hlal, but I personally won't want any of that, life is stressful as it is, I don't need that kind of things. If he wants another woman he will have to leave for good first. My take...

It has already taken over your life

No woman would say otherwise! and in fact , a woman ,has threatened not only to kill her husband (both mulisms though) if he would take a second wife , but to burn down the whole house..and unfortunately she did.she's in jail rightnow serving 20 years sentence!
Another case,no sooner after she learnt about his marriage, a woman burnt herself to death ! MAY ALLAH preserve us!!!
With respect to POLYGAMY terms ! as ALLAH mentionned, the only condition to be fullfilled is : to be just while treating them.
ALLAH knows BEST.Last edited by mourad120; 9th December 2009 at 14:11.

Well as a wife in Algeria apparently has to sign an agreement to allow her husband to marry a second woman, then she should never take such action. If she really does not want him to marry someone else, then she shouldn't sign, no need to go burning things (including themselves).
