    Egyptian Referees For Gambia Game

Algeria's African Cup qualifier next month against Gambia will be officiated by a trio of Egyptian refs: Ahmed Auda, Nabi Nasser Sadek and Mohamed Walid. The game will be held on the 6th of October at Alger's 5 Juillet Stadium. It will be the second official game for head coach Jean-Michel Cavalli after the 0-0 away draw against Guinea. Gambia defeated Cape Verde 2-0 in their first game of qualifiers at home and two of their European based players, Ebou Sillah et Edrissa Sonko, have promised that they will win their game against Algeria 'with more goals scored than against Cape Verde.'

Algerian international Antar Yahia has been suspended for his country's next two African Nations Cup qualifiers, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) said on Wednesday.

Yahia, who plays at French Ligue 1 club Nice, was sent off during his country's opening Group Eight qualifier against Guinea in Conakry on Sept. 3 and has been given the two-match ban for violent conduct.

It means the French-born defender will not be able to play in a competitive international until June next year, missing Algeria's home matches against Gambia on October 6 and the Cape Verde Islands on March 23 next year.

He will only be available again for selection by coach Jean-Michel Cavalli for the fourth round of qualifiers for the 2008 finals in Ghana, away against the Cape Verde Islands in Praia on June 3 next year.
