Argentine - Algérie se dessine

Une source responsable de la Fédération Algérienne de Football, FAF, a révélé que le match amical qui devait avoir lieu entre la sélection nationale et son homologue Argentine n’est plus à envisager désormais, même si des entreprises commerciales sportives européennes le souhaitent. Elle a ajouté que le sélectionneur national a donné un accord de principe sans examiner les conditions financières et réglementaires en rapport.

Notre source a indiqué que jusqu’à présent la fédération argentine n’a pas envoyé d’accord ni de conditions pratiques pour la programmation d’une rencontre entre les deux sélections le 6 juin prochain, ajoutant « je ne crois pas que cette rencontre va être programmée car d’après notre connaissance de la préparation de ce genre de rencontres, la FAF n’est financièrement pas capable de répondre à l’invitation car la sélection Argentine peut demander jusqu’à 200 mille euros ».

Pour ce qui est de l’adversaire, en l’occurrence l’Argentine, et de l’éventuel risque à prendre avant une rencontre cruciale face à la Guinée à la mi-juin prochain notre source a indiqué « Cavalli a donné son accord, il doit en assumer la responsabilité du point de vue technique ou psychologique ».

Sur un autre plan, des sources concordantes indiquent que la FAF a reçu une invitation officielle de la Fédération Emirati pour un match amical en Novembre prochain, sachant qu’elle perdrait en charge toutes les dépenses de transports et de résidence à Dubaï. La FAF a donné un accord de principe en attendant de fixer un calendrier définitif des matchs amicaux, bien sûr si les Verts assurent leur qualification à la Can, la parti Algérienne doit étudier d’autres rendez vous face au Sénégal et au Bénin entre Septembre, Octobre, Novembre et Décembre.

Le sélectionneur national, Jean Michel Cavalli, a convoqué avant-hier soir huit joueurs locaux, dont trois gardiens de but, afin de prendre part au stage des verts qui débutera lundi en prévision de la rencontre face au Cap Vert prévue le 2 juin à Praia.

Cavalli a surpris tout le monde en convoquant le chouchou des Sétifiens, Lazhar Hadj Aissa, si son talent n’est plus à prouver, ce dernier n’a pas encore récupéré ses forces après deux importantes compétitions, la ligue Arabe et la coupe d’Algérie. Le cas de ce joueur semble faire débat car Hadj Aissa a été blessé il y a trois mois et il ne s’est toujours pas remis de cette blessure, des observateurs indiquent même que son déplacement en Jordanie lors de la finale retour de la Coupe Arabe n’est que purement commercial. La liste comporte également les noms des défenseurs Maiza, Hasni, Samir Ezaoui et Meftah en plus des gardiens de but Gaouaoui, Hadjaoui et Ousrir. Le sélectionneur national devrait expliquer ses choix lundi lors d’une conférence de presse.

La sélection finale comporte 15 professionnels et 8 joueurs locaux qui s’envoleront mercredi soir vers Praia à bord d’un vol spécial d’Air Algérie.

May 28, 2007 -- Cape Verde have been forced to leave out four first-team players for their Nations Cup qualifier at home to Algeria on Saturday.

They will be without the injured trio of Cafu, Nelson Veiga and Sandro, who plays for Portuguese first division Vitoria Setubal.

Defender Nene is suspended for the game in Praia.

Algeria top the standings ahead of the Group Eight tie with seven points.

Cape Verde Islands have three points from their first three matches in the campaign for a place at the 2008 finals in Ghana.

Cape Verde to miss quartet

ALGIERS, May 28 (Reuters) - Algeria have left Watford striker Hameur Bouazza out of their squad for the African Nations Cup qualifier against Cape Verde Islands in Praia on Saturday, the Algerian Football Federation announced on Monday.

Coach Jean-Michel Cavalli said Bouazza had asked to miss the match because his father was gravely ill in France.

Algeria are without the suspended Nadir Belhadj from French club Sedan.

Cavalli named only one uncapped player in the squad, calling up French-born forward Kamel Fathi Ghilas, who scored 12 goals for Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal this season.

He also recalled goalkeeper Mohamed Ousserir, defenders Mohamed Rabie Meftah, Samir Zaoui and midfielder Yacine Bezzaz for the Group Eight match.

Algeria lead the group standings with seven points, four more than the Cape Verde.

Le match face à l’Argentine n’est plus d’actualité

May 30, 2007 -- The Algerian national football squad will face the indomitable national team of Argentina in a friendly international match at 19h00 GMT on June 5th in Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium, the Algerian football Federation announced today.

The national football coach Jean Michel Cavalli told a press conference in Algiers that the upcoming warm-up match versus the Argentine national squad constituted a source of renewed motivation for the Algerian players who would surely strive to make a good showing on the pitch next Tuesday at Camp Nou.

Cavalli added that the Algeria-Argentina game came at the right moment as the Algerian national line-up is bracing for a decisive second-leg match versus Guinea on June 16th 2007 in Algiers as part of the qualifying round of the African Nations Cup (CAN) due to be hosted by Ghana in February 2008.

In the standings of their group, Algeria rank first, followed in second place by Guinea.

Cape Verde rank third and Gambia lags behind, holding the fourth and last position in the standings.

Les « Verts » s’envolent vers Praia

May 31, 2007 -- The Argentina Football Federation has confirmed a hastily arranged friendly against former African champions Algeria on 5 June.

The match will be played at Barcelona's Nou Camp stadium and is the first meeting between the two countries.

The game falls between two African Nations Cup qualifiers for Algeria.

They meet the Cape Verde Islands in Praia on Saturday and Guinea at home in Algiers on June 16 in Group Eight qualifiers.

Argentina play Euro 2008 co-hosts Switzerland in a friendly in Basel on Saturday.
