    Arab Champions League 2006-2007

    Algeria will be represented by MC Alger, ASO Chlef and ES Setif in the next edition of the Arab Champions League, the UAFA (Arab Football Union) has announced. The first round of qualifiers will be held in September.

    Teams that have confirmed their participation so far:

    Club Africain, US Monastir, Esperence Zarzis (Tunisia)
    Al Hilal, Al Ahly, Al Nasr (Saudi Arabia)
    Chabab, Al-Faisaly (Jordan)
    Al Ansar, Hikma (Lebanon)
    El Tilal, El Hilal (Yemen)
    Tolkaram (Palestine)

    Teams have until the end of June to confirm their participationg.

    MCA, CABBA and ESS Chosen

    The UAFA has announced that MC Alger, CA Bordj Bou Arreridj and ES Setif will be the Algerian representatives in the upcoming edition of the Arab Champions League. In all, 32 teams will participate in the 4th edition and the draw will be held on July 21st. The 32 teams:

    Chabab Jordan, Fayçali (Jordan), Ahli (United Arab Emirates), Ahli (Bahraïn), Club Africain, Union de Monastir (Tunisia), ES Sétif, CA Bordj Bou Arréridj, MC Alger (Algéria), Aqaria (Djibouti), Ittihad Jeddah, Ahli Jeddah, Al-Nasr (Saudi Arabia), Merreikh (Sudan), Gueich, Al-Wehda (Syria), Arbil (Iraq), Al-Nahda (Oman), Chabab Tolkorm (Palestine), Ahli (Qatar), Qadisseya, Koweït (Kuwait), Al-Ansar (Lebanon), Ittihad (Libya), Zamalek, Enppi, Ismaïli (Egypt), Raja Casablanca, Olympique de Khourigba, Meknès (Morocco), Al-Nasr (Mauritania), Al-Télal (Yemen)

    Algerian CA Bordj Bou Arreridj and Egyptian club Ismaili played to a goalless draw on Sunday in Bordj Bou Arreridj. The second leg will be played on November 26th in Cairo.

    Algeria's ES Setif defeated Ittihad Jeddah 4-1 at home on Monday (November 20th) in a first-leg Arab Champions League second-round match. Remy Adiko, Adel Maiza, Lsaad Bourahli, and Abdelmalik Ziaya scored for the Algerian team, while Mexican Jared Borgetti scored for Ittihad in the 76th minute.

    Ittihad will host ES Setif in Jeddah on November 28th.

    Talal Al-Mashaal and Saad Al-Harthi scored in the 80th minute and 87th minute, respectively, to gave Saudi club Al Nassr a 2-1 victory over MC Alger on Tuesday in Riyadh. MC striker Mohamed Badache scored in the 20th minute. The second leg will be played November 27th in Algeria.

    Le MC Alger s’est incliné devant son homologue saoudien, Ennasr sur le score de 2 buts à 1: ( mi-temps 0-1), en match aller des huitièmes de finale de la Ligue des champions arabes de football, disputé mardi à Riyad (Arabie saoudite). Le MC Alger a ouvert le score en 1re mi-temps par Mohamed Badache à la 21ème minute sur une passe de Younes. La formation d’Ennasr a renversé la situation dans les dix dernières minutes grâce à Talal Mechaal (79’) et Saad Harithi (85’). Le MC Alger a évolué avec la composition suivante : Abdouni, Babouche, Hosni, Coulibaly, Bouacida, Zemit, Bendahmane, Babouche, Badji (Belkaïd 83’), Badache (Largot 35’), Bouguèche (Illoul 88’) et Younes. Cette rencontre a été arbitrée par un trio du sultanat d’Oman composé de Abdellah El Hllali, Abdellah El Amoudi et Salem Batachi.

    Le match retour se déroulera lundi 27 novembre au stade du 5 Juillet (Alger) à partir de 19h30 (heure algérienne).
