Salaam,
I know this is usually Henni's spot but there isn't a thread for today's matches so here we are:
England V Portugal 1600h
Brazil V France 2000h
You know what to do...![]()

I will pick France to upset Brazil. France's MF can play with anyone on their day and we all know how it panned out the last time they met in a European World Cup. Zidane, Vieira and Makelele will certainly remember. I say France to upset the champs.
Brazil is not impressive, especially on the wings were Roberto Carlos is a really poor defender and Cafu is showing his age. Selfishness in attack will prevent them to make up for it. Classic Brazil "Euroflameout"
France are more solid than Ghana, won't concede the fast break to the Brazilians but if Trezeguet continues to watch the matches from the bench they lack scoring punch
Brazil 1 France 2 (Fingers x
)
England Vs Portugal (I don't think Portugal will be able to break through England's defence .. ) but I expect 1-1 OT - England on PKs.

England 1:2 Portugal
Brazil 1:2 France (now that Argentina is out there's no need for Brazil to go further).

I am finding it difficult to accept that france may win against brazil. They can do it if they play exceptionally well, but brazil is unpredictable, if it is their day, they will be unstoppable.

Difficult but possible. Individually the players are of equal quality (with a small plus for brazil) but as a team, brazil is much better organised.
It will depend on how the french MF (Makelele, Zidane, Viera) will handle the brazilian quatuor (Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Kaka and Adriano)
I guess France will play with Henry as only striker... The brazilian defence has never been tested with international quality players like him... That is another question mark
