Djamel Mesbah has gotten off to a great start with his new club FC Aarau in the Swiss top flight. The 21-year old has started all 3 games and scored 1 goal and has been the best player for his team. Even though his team has lost 2 of its first 3 games, Mesbah has separated himself from the lot and shown the signs of brilliance he first showed playing for Servette Geneve.

Mesbah started his playing career in the small French club of US Annecy before joining Swiss giants Servette Geneve's junior ranks. From there he progressed to the first team. At 18, he played his first season with the pros, making 11 appearances and scoring 3 goals. The financial collapse of Servette forced him to switch clubs and he joined Switzerland's biggest club, FC Bale. At Bale, injuries and stiff competition limited him to just 11 appearances in 2 season. His move to FC Aarau will allow him to get the playing time he needs and he's also hoping to get a call-up to the Algerian NT in the near future.
