Marco Materazzi tries to make profit from headbutt by writing ‘What I really said to Zidane’ book:
PARIS – Algerian born French football legend Zinedine Zidane said he had been saddened to see Italy international Marco Materazzi profit from the headbutt he received from Zidane in this summer's World Cup final.
Materazzi has recently published a book entitled: "What I really said to Zidane," which includes 249 phrases he might have said to the former France captain.
When asked on Wednesday afternoon whether he had received or would buy the book, Zidane told Canal + television station: "No."
According to Gazzetta dello Sport however, Materazzi will donate proceeds from the book to children's charity Unicef. It has gone on sale for around 10 euros and features a picture of the headbutt on its front cover.
Zidane was sent off in the second period of extra time in the July 9 World Cup final for head-butting Materazzi, who had insulted the Algerian born French midfield maestro.
Italy went on to defeat France 5-3 on penalties after the match had finished tied at 1-1. Zidane put France ahead with a penalty-kick before Materazzi headed the equaliser.
