    Ziani wins Algerian Golden Ball second year running

    Algerian international Karim Ziani, who currently plays for FC Sochaux, first French division, was named the best Algerian footballer for 2006 by Internet users through the poll on the DZfoot website, dedicated to Algerian football. The trophy "DZfoot d'Or 2006" was awarded to him on Sunday (December 17th) in a ceremony, which also honoured ten other Algerian footballers playing in France.

    Algerian Karim Ziani, who is currently playing for the French first division club Sochaux, was awarded the 2006 Golden Ball by El Heddaf sports magazine. Goalkeeper Merouane Abdouni will receive the 2006 Golden Glove, and Mouloudia's Benmoussa Younès was named 2006 Young Hopeful. The award ceremony will take place on Thursday (December 28th).

    December 17, 2007 -- Algeria's best footballers for the 2006-2007 season were honoured at a ceremony hosted Monday (December 17th) by Algerian sporting dailies Le Buteur and El Heddaf. Team captains, coaches, club presidents and journalists voted the Golden Ball 2007 award to Karim Ziani of Olympique Marseille for the second year in a row. CR Belouizdad's Mohamed Amine Aoudia was named best young player, WA Tlemcen's Louanès Gaouaoui received the best goalkeeper award and Le Havre's Cheikh Dabo was given the top scorer award. Djamel Haïmoudi was voted best referee by his peers.

    Mardi 18 Décembre 2007 -- L’international algérien de l’Olympique de Marseille, Karim Ziani, a été désigné meilleur footballeur algérien de la saison 2006-2007 par le Buteur et El-Haddaf. Ziani a reçu son trophée, hier dans la soirée, lors d’une cérémonie organisée à l’hôtel Hilton d’Alger.

    Ziani a récolté 578 pts devant respectivement, le Lyonnais Nadir Belhadj (359 pts) et le sociétaire de Sétif (D1), Lazhar Hadj Aïssa (314 pts). Au cours de la même cérémonie, le trophée du meilleur gardien a été attribué à l’international Lounès Gaouaoui (WA Tlemcen, 578 pts), qui a dévancé Samir Hadjaoui (ESS, 554 pts) et Foued Chaouchi (JSK, 328 pts).

    Le trophée du meilleur espoir est revenu à l’avant-centre du CR Belouizdad (D1), Mohamed Amine Aoudia (491 pts), suivi de Rafik Halliche (NA Hussein Dey, 409 pts) et Maroci (USM Blida, 273 pts). Le prix du meilleur buteur de la saison revient à l’attaquant malien de la JS Kabylie Cheikh Omar Dabo transféré au Havre (L2 française) (16 réalisations).

    L’arbitre international Djamel Himoudi a été désigné par ses pairs meilleur sifflet 2007, alors que le milieu défensif du MC Alger (D1), Moussa Coulibaly a été élu meilleur étranger du championnat algérien.
