In 2006, several automotive publications reported on rumors of a higher performance variant of the IS being tested at various stages of development. Spy photos of such a vehicle being tested in Germany and California were published in several magazines and websites. Among these spy reports, several photos were shown of a heavily modified and camouflaged IS sedan at the Nürburgring test track in Germany along with other disguised Lexus test vehicles. The previous generation IS 430 prototype vehicle was indicative of future possibilities for the IS series, including the likelihood that a second generation high-performance IS model could come equipped with a V8 engine.

On 6 December, 2006, Lexus officially confirmed the existence of the vehicle which they called IS-F in the press release. The IS-F sedan premiered at the 2007 North American International Auto Show on 8 January, 2007 as the launch product of Lexus' F-Series lineup of performance-focused vehicles. A 5.0 L V8 producing over 400 hp and 350 ft-lb powers the new IS-F. The engine also features a two-stage intake system, engine oil and transmission fluid coolers and an oil pump designed for high-speed cornering. Images were leaked a couple of hours before the official announcement.

Enough is never enough: This is the motto behind FAB DESIGN's extensive refinement treatment of the grand Mercedes coupe. The new wide body aerodynamic programm fits in harmony into the entire picture and gives the vehicule a more sporty appearance.









The FAB DESIGN wide body front bumper forms a unit with the new wide front fenders and takes up the line guidance at the new CL. A big opening placed in the middle provides a lot of fresh air for the coolers. The left and right side intakes serve a lot of cooling for the brakes. Despite the enlargement of the fender the harmony and elegance of the basic CL is fully preserved. The front fender sideopenings behind the salient enlargements act as an additional cooling element. The lightly overstanding sideskirts at the door bottom edge, make the CL look not only sporty but also dynamical and stylish. The sporty and dynamic looking rear fender with the intakes provides a lot of ventilation for a sufficent cooling of the rear brake system.

Au salon de Genève de mars prochain, les spectateurs pourront croiser une BMW M5 d'un genre un peu particulier orchestré par le préparateur allemand Lumma. Le résultat est un bolide de 560 ch baptisé Lumma CLR 500 RS, laissant apparaître une carrosserie bi-ton dédiée au seul plaisir de la sportivité.

Non, Lumma ne se penche pas sur un énième épisode du célèbre film d'horreur Halloween. Pour le salon de Genève qui se déroulera en mars prochain, le tuner allemand s'est juste occupé à sa façon d'une BMW Série 5. Loin de faire peur, la berline transfigurée est plus que séduisante.

Lumma est connu sur News Auto. D’autant plus facilement qu’il n’est généralement pas très discret dans le remodelage des autos qu’il propose. Pour le salon de Genève, le tuner allemand prépare sa vision de la BMW M5 : la Lumma CLR 500 rs.

Comme quelques autres, la BMW M5 by Lumma se pare de Orange et de Noir. Le Kit aéro propose comme d’habitude, ses boucliers avant et arrière et adoptant qui de larges entrées d’air, qui un diffuseur énorme.

Le latéral n’est pas en reste puisque les bas de caisse élargis s’accordent avec des passages de roues eux aussi élargis et percés de quelques évents. On ne fait pas dans la dentelle chez Lumma. Le capot et la malle sont réalisés dans un nouveau matériau aux propriétés voisines de celle du Kevlar Carbone.

Le V10 subit une bonne cure de vitamines qui porte sa puissance à 560 cv contre 507 d’origine. L’électronique est revue en conséquence pour une vitesse maximale enregistrée (sur computer certainement) à 327 km/h. Le 0 à 100 km/h est attendu en moins de 4 sec.

Une autre pièce de choix est l’échappement exclusif qui se termine par les 2 sorties qui percent le diffuseur arrière à ses extrémités. Les pneus atteignent les 255/30-21 à l’avant et 295/25-21 à l’arrière et abritent des disques de freins de 380 mm pincés chacuns par 6 pistons. Un set de suspensions H&R réglables est monté et l’auto est rabaissée de 4 cm.

A l’intérieur, cela reste classique c’est à dire selon les voeux du propriétaire.

Forty years ago, at the 1967 New York Auto Show, Ford introduced the most powerful Shelby Mustang ever. Like every Mustang that bore the name ‘Shelby,’ the GT500KR carries with it its own unique story.

The 1968 Shelby Cobra GT500KR was a mid-year introduction, based on the 1968 Shelby GT500. Ford added ‘Cobra’ to the Shelby’s moniker to help usher in the beginning of a new performance era at the company. The Cobra name referred to the new 428 Cobra Jet V-8 that was planted under the KR’s custom fiberglass hood. It was the engine that would once again vault the Mustang to the head of the pack.


While the name ‘King of the Road’ may have been the perfect fit for the world’s most powerful Mustang, it also provided Shelby the chance to steal the thunder from cross-town rival General Motors. As the legend goes, Shelby learned that GM was planning to introduce a high-performance model and call it ‘King of the Road.’

Since he had always wanted to use the name, and as one to never miss an opportunity, Shelby set his organization in gear, registering the name and designing new badging for the Cobra Jet-powered Mustang, christening it the GT500KR, and bringing Ford’s ‘King of the Road’ to market before GM ever got a chance to apply the name to their product.

Official: Chevy Camaro Convertible Concept to be Shown at Detroit



GM will be showing the Chevy Camaro Convertible Concept this Saturday night at the Detroit Auto Show. The car will be sharing the stage with some super stars including Carmen Electra. The Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Concept will be dressed in a Hugger Orange color at the auto show and GM is saying that the car will have a V8 engine, proper standard transmission, four wheel disc brakes and a four wheel independent suspension. GM also plans to unveil 5 other concept cars along with the new Cadillac CTS
