May 11, 2007 -- Algerian 1,500 metres runner, Tarek Boukensa finished 4th at the Athletics International Meeting of Doha, Qatar recording a 3:32.35 timing.

The winner of the race was Kenyan champion Chige Augustine Kiprono who finished the race recording 3:31.73 followed by his fellow-countryman Simotwo Suleiman Kipses who recorded 3:31.98. Moroccan Baba Youssef came third in the same race with 3:32.13.

The other Algerian contender raced in the 800 metres event and finished 8th with a 1:50.24 timing. The 800 metres race was dominated by the Kenyan Wilfred Bungei with 1:44.14 and the Moroccan Laalom Amine who finished second with 1:44.87 outstripping Uganda’s Chepkirwor Abraham who finished third in the race with 1:45.14.

The Doha International Athletics Meeting is one of the Super IAAF Grand Prix competitions. Next IAAF Meeting will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland next July.
