July 9, 2007 -- Algerian runner Tarek Boukensa won the bronze in the men’s 1,500m event Friday (July 6th) at Meeting Gaz de France Paris Saint-Denis, the second of six meetings which make up the International Association of Athletics Federations Golden League 2007, El Watan reported. Boukensa clocked 3:32.77 to take third place, behind the American Alan Webb who set the world record for the season with 3:30.54, and France’s Mehdi Baala who came in at 3:31.01. Following the meet Boukensa is ranked sixth in the world and fourth in Africa behind Kenya'a Auguste Kiprono Chege and Suleiman Kipses Simotwo and Morocco's Youcef Baba.
