Hameur Bouazza en route pour le club anglais de Charlton Athletic

Pardew admits Bouazza bid

July 13, 2008 -- Charlton Athletic boss Alan Pardew has confirmed he made an approach for Fulham's Hameur Bouazza.

Skysports.com revealed earlier this month that the Addicks had expressed an interest in signing Bouazza on loan.

However, Pardew has acknowledged that Fulham are not currently prepared to let the winger leave Craven Cottage.

"We had made contact with Fulham, but they don't want to do business at the moment," said Pardew after Charlton's friendly win over Ebbsfleet on Saturday.

Bouazza joined Fulham last summer from Watford, only to struggle for fitness in the second half of the season.

Spanish duo Espanyol and Osasuna, along with Fulham's Premier League rivals Wigan Athletic, have also been linked with offers.

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson, though, appears keen to assess the Algeria international in pre-season before making a decision on Bouazza's future.

July 27, 2008 -- ES Setif star Hadj Aissa signed a three-year contract on Friday (July 25th) with Ukrainian first division team FC Kharkiv, Ech Chourouk reports. Aissa's new club will take part in the next year's UEFA Cup.

West Brom to swoop for Real Betis target Majid Bougherra

July 29, 2008 -- Newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion are reportedly targeting Charlton Athletic defender Madjid Bougherra, who has been linked with a move to Real Betis in Spain.

The Baggies are currently continuing their interest in Bolton Wanderer’s Abdoulaye Meite, but are keeping the Algerian, Bougherra as their second option in case the deal falls through to bring Meite to the Hawthorns..

Other Premiership clubs which include Middlesbrough and Sunderland have been strongly linked to the 25-year-old who joined the Addicks from Sheffield Wednesday 18 months ago.

After his sides friendly win over Brighton at the weekend, Charlton coach Alan Pardew said: "Real Betis have been in the frame for a long while with Madjid.

"They still are and Madjid will probably be sold I think."

Mercredi 30 juillet 2008 -- Le stage précompétitif des Ententistes, entamé depuis le 14 juillet sous la houlette du coach Bernard Simondi à Tignes (France), tire à sa fin. Ce regroupement, ponctué par une série de matchs amicaux, a permis, a priori, aux nouvelles recrues de s’adapter avec le groupe. Lors du premier match disputé contre l’AS Lyon Duchère (CFA), les camarades de Lemouchia ont réussi à s’imposer sur un score de 5 à 2. Ensuite, le onze Sétifien a eu à affronter Cuiseaux- Louhans (CFA) pour sortir également victorieux par 2 à 1. Quant à au troisième test amical livré contre l’équipe de Meyrin FC (Suisse), les Noirs et Blancs se sont permis le luxe de réaliser un score fleuve de 7 buts à 1. Dans cette efficacité offensive, Lamouri Djediat et Malik Ziaya se sont particulièrement distingués en inscrivant respectivement cinq et trois buts. Avec ces résultas, et en attendant la 4e rencontre que le groupe devait jouer hier face à une autre formation CFA, implantée du côté de St-Etienne, l’ESS semble afficher ses réelles ambitions. L’essentiel c’est que le staff technique a saisi l’opportunité pour faire tourner son riche effectif et travailler tous les aspect liés à la préparation, notamment les aspects physique, technico-tactiques et la cohésion du groupe.

On apprend que l’équipe va regagner le pays demain après avoir passé les deux dernières nuits à Lyon. La direction du club a, cependant, décidé de donner deux jours de repos aux joueurs. Ils rejoindront aussitôt un mini regroupement à l’hôtel Hilton et effectueront les entraînements au stade de Rouiba, qui abritera le premier match officiel de la saison, étant donné que la pelouse du stade du 8-Mai 1945 est en réfection. Loin d’être fortuit, le choix de Rouiba est basé sur le fait que la préparation de l’équipe s’est faite sur une pelouse en gazon naturel, apprend-on auprès des responsables du club sétifien. Sur un autre registre, les fans sétifiens restent perplexes devant ce qu’on pourrait désormais appeler «l’aventure de Hadj-Aïssa». En effet, annoncé, dans un premier temps, au club portugais de Benfica, «Haddji» s’est déplacé ensuite en Ukraine, où certaines informations l’avaient donné quasi certain au sein du club de Metalist Kharkov, précisant qu’un contrat a été bel et bien signé pour deux saisons et une troisième négociable. Aux dernières nouvelles, on apprend que le meneur de jeu ententiste va regagner aujourd’hui le pays pour ne pas rater le délai des signatures et reprendre ainsi le service avec son team. On croit savoir que la principale raison de ce rebondissement réside dans le refus de la direction ententiste d’envoyer la lettre de libération aux Ukrainiens avant de percevoir la part du transfert due au club.

West Brom to swoop for Real Betis target Majid Bougherra

West Brom agree £2m Bougherra fee

July 30, 2008 -- West Brom are close to signing Charlton's Madjid Bougherra after having a bid of around £2m accepted for the Algerian international defender.

Club officials are now poised to hold talks with the player, also believed to be a target for Real Betis.

Bougherra, 25, is thought to be a priority for Baggies boss Tony Mowbray, who wants to bring in further new blood before the transfer window closes.

French-born Bougherra joined Charlton for £2.5m 18 months ago.

Former Hibernian boss Mowbray is believed to have kept tabs on Bougherra for some time and was linked with him when the player moved from Sheffield Wednesday to Charlton during the January 2007 transfer window.

Bougherra began his career with FC Gueugnon and moved to English football when he signed for Crewe in January 2006.

Albion have already signed Scott Carson, Marek Cech and Gianni Zuiverloon during the summer.

Mowbray is also understood to be keen on Bolton centre-back Abdoulaye Meite.

Hadj Aissa quits Ukraine squad to rejoin ES Setif

July 30, 2008 -- Algerian international midfielder Lazhar Hadj Aissa abandoned a pending 3-year professional contact with Ukraine's Metalist Kharkov to return home to Algiers and rejoin his former squad ES Setif, Echorouk reported on Wednesday (July 30th). The player reportedly said the contract violated his religious beliefs by expecting him to eat during the holy month of Ramadan.
