December 5, 2007 -- The Confederation of African Football (CAF) revealed the lineup for the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup on Tuesday (December 4th). In the Champions League, Mauritania's ASC Snim will meet Algerian champions ES Setif in the preliminary round, Morocco’s OC Khourigba will face Guinea Bissau's SC de Bissau and FAR Rabat will clash with Cape Verde's S.C. da Praia. Tunisia's Club Africain will play Senegal's ASC Saloum. The first leg game is due in mid-February. Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel, Libya's Ittihad and JS Kabylie have received byes for the preliminary round and will begin their participation in mid-March.
In the Confederation Cup, Libya's al-Akhdar will be the only Maghreb team to start in the preliminary round when it meets Chad's Tchad. Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien will play Mali's Djoliba. The first leg is due in mid-March. Esperance de Tunis will play Morocco's Rachad Bernoussi, Algeria’s MC Alger and J.S. Bejaia will face Nigeria’s Dolphins and Wikki Tourist, respectively.

December 18, 2007 -- MC Algiers will move directly to round two of the African Confederation Cup (CAF), due to the withdrawal of Egypt's Haras El Houdoud in the round of 16. El Watan reported that the Egyptian team made the decision for financial reasons. According to CAF regulations, Haras El Houdoud will be suspended from continental competitions for two years.
