Medals for Algeria at African Athletics Championships

May 6, 2008 -- Algeria won a total of seven medals, including two gold, four silver and one bronze, placing fifth overall at the 16th African Athletics Championships, which ended Sunday (May 4th) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Morocco came in sixth with six medals (two gold, two silver and two bronze). Tunisia took three medals, including two gold and one bronze. South African athletes dominated the championships, winning 22 medals.

Mardi 6 mai 2008 -- Dans la discipline du saut en hauteur, Mohamed Benhédia a décroché l’argent (2,18 m) en finale du championnat d’Afrique d’athlétisme qui s’est achevé hier à Addis-Abeba. La médaille d’or a été décrochée par le Botswanais Kgostemang qui a franchi la barre des 2,34 m. Pour le triple saut, Kamelia Sahnoun s’est contentée de la 4e place (13,86 m) dans un concours remporté par la revenante camerounaise, Françoise Mnango (14,76 m).
