July 6, 2008 -- The North African Football Union elected Algeria's Mohamed Raouraoua as its new president Friday (July 4th) in Tunis, MAP reported. He replaces Egyptian Samir Zouhir. The union also elected Morocco's Mohamed Moufid as vice-president and head of the competitions commission. The election was held during the union's general meeting, which focused on financial aspects and sporting affairs for the next season. Liberté quoted Raouraoua as saying that a particular goal of his presidency will be the establishment of the North African Champions League and UNAF Cup Winners' Cups.
