August 2, 2009 -- Tunisian club Etoile du Sahel defeated TP Mazembe of DR Congo 2-1 on Saturday (August 1st) in Sousse, in the team's second African Champions League group match. Ammar Jemal opened the scoring for the Tunisians in the 34th minute on a penalty, and Aymen Abdennour sealed the victory in the 62nd minute.

August 17, 2009 -- Etoile du Sahel lost to Nigeria's Heartland FC 0-3 Sunday (August 16th) in a CAF Champions League match at Owerri's Dan Anyiam Stadium. The Tunisian team will host the return leg on August 29th. Etoile are currently third in their group, with 3 points from 3 matches.

August 27, 2009 -- Algeria's ES Sétif will host Angola's Santos FC for a CAF Cup match on Friday (August 28th), APS reported. In the away leg on August 16th, ES Sétif suffered their first CAF Cup loss. Both Santos and ESS have six points, so the Algerians' performance at home in the return leg will be decisive for the African Confederation Cup Group A standings.
In the Champions League, Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel will host Heartland FC of Nigeria on Saturday. Etoile are currently third in their group with three points, while Heartland top the group standings with two victories and a loss.

August 30, 2009 -- Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel and visitors Heartland FC of Nigeria played to a goalless draw on Saturday (August 29th) in a Champions League group stage match. ES Sahel are third in their group, with 4 points from 4 games. The next two matches are crucial for the Tunisians; they will host Monomotapa of Zimbabwe on September 12th and visit group leaders TP Mazembe (9 points) in DR Congo on September 20th.

September 11, 2009 -- Tunisia's Étoile du Sahel are preparing for a crucial match against Zimbabwe's Monomotapa on Saturday (September 12th), a must-win game of the African Champions League (CAF), CAFonline.com reported. ES Sahel need to win the maximum number of points to secure one of the last four spots open to compete for the CAF championship. "We have not given up because we're not mathematically out. Anything can happen in football!" coach Lotfi Rhim told CAF. ES Sahel are currently third in Group B with 4 points, trailing TP Mazembe of RD Congo with 9 points and Heartland Nigeria with 7 points.

September 13, 2009 -- Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel beat Monomotapa in Sousse on Saturday (September 12th), and are one win away from qualifying for the African Champions League semi-finals, Goal.com reported. Etoile will face RD Congo's TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi on Sunday (September 20th). ESS are third in their division with 7 points, trailing Nigeria's Heartland FC with 10 points and TP Mazembe with 9 points. Monomotapa is now out of contention with 3 points.

September 22, 2009 -- Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel lost their chance to reach the CAF Champions League semi-finals after falling 1-0 to DR Congo's TP Mazembe Saturday (September 19th) in Lubumbashi. Sudan's Al-Hilal and Nigerian clubs Heartland FC and Kano Pillars have already secured their semi-final slots.
