July 10, 2009 -- Runner Samir Khadar, 23, gave Algeria its first medal at the World University Games Thursday (July 9th) in Belgrade by finishing second in the 1500m, APS reported. Algeria is represented at the event by 16 athletes and 11 judokas. The international competition ends July 12th.
