August 20, 2009 -- Former ES Satif star Hadj Aissa on Thursday (August 20th) returned to Algeria after quitting Saudi Arabia’s Al Ettifaq, Liberté reported. Aissa had signed a 2-year, 1.2 million euro deal, but his family urged him to leave the team when it refused to honour its financial agreements, Sport365 reported. Aissa played for Al Ettifaq on Sunday, netting one goal and assisting twice.

Dimanche 23 Août 2009 -- Hadj Aïssa, qui vient de quitter son club Al Ittifak en Arabie Saoudite, est actuellement au centre de négociations. Ayant quitté le club séoudien sans prévenir ses dirigeants, Hadj Aïssa souhaite s’installer en Angleterre. Certaines sources évoquent Portsmouth où le joueur algérien est pressenti pour effectuer un stage.

August 24, 2009 -- Algerian international midfielder Lazhar Hadj Aïssa, 25, is expected to sign a to a deal worth 461,000 euro with English Premier League club Portsmouth, British press reported on Monday (August 24th). The former ES Setif playmaker and top ACL player of 2007 had just joined Al Ettifaq. He quit last week over the Saudi club's alleged refusal to honour his million-euro contract.

September 3, 2009 -- Algerian midfielder Lazhar Hadj Aïssa will not join fellow countryman Nadir Belhadj in Portsmouth this season, Liberté quoted the English Premiership club as saying on its website on Wednesday (September 2nd). Hadj Aïssa will reportedly return to ES Sétif.
