September 24, 2009 -- Six Maghreb football teams are among the top 25 African clubs of the 20th century, the International Federation of Football History and Statistics announced on Wednesday (September 23rd). Asante Kotoko of Ghana finished first, followed by Egyptian clubs Al Ahly and Zamalek. Tunisia's Espérance Sportive de Tunis are seventh, Morocco's Raja Casablanca are 12th, JS Kabylie of Algeria rank 13th, FAR Rabat are in the 18th position, Tunisia's Étoile Sportive du Sahel are 20th and Club African Tunis rank 22nd. APS noted that current Algeria league leaders MC Algiers ranked 42nd, while Algeria champions ES Sétif were 54th.
