LUANDA, November 20, 2009 — After beating Egypt in a dramatic series of qualifying games to capture a place at the World Cup, Algeria has been drawn with host Angola, Mali and Malawi in a comparatively easy group at the African Cup of Nations. Defending champion and record six-time winner Egypt has been drawn to play Nigeria, Mozambique and Benin in the 16-team championship to be played in four Angolan venues January 10-31. The toughest group appears to be Group B, which has two World Cup qualifiers in Ivory Coast and Ghana, along with Togo, which played at the 2006 World Cup, and Burkina Faso. The last group has Cameroon, Gabon, Zambia and Tunisia. Two from each group advance to the quarter-finals.
