Egypt beats Ghana 1-0 to earn African Cup title

LUANDA, Angola, January 31, 2010 — Egypt won the African Cup of Nations for the third straight time Sunday after substitute Mohamed Gedo scored in the 85th minute for a 1-0 victory over Ghana. Gedo curled in a shot from within the area to give Egypt its record seventh title. No other team has won the biennial tournament three consecutive times. World Cup qualifier Ghana, which had been hoping to earn its first continental crown since 1982, dominated for most of the match but failed to create clear-cut chances. Fielding four members of the team that won the Under-20 World Cup last year, Ghana defended neatly and were able to move swiftly into the Egypt half. However, Ghana failed to support its strikers. Asamoah Gyan, who scored Ghana's winners against both Angola and Nigeria in the previous stages, went close in the 52nd minute with a perfectly curled free kick that was tipped over the bar by El Hadary. Gyan was a threat again in the 74th minute when he missed the target following a quick counterattack before forcing El Hadary to palm the ball away on a free kick. Egypt finally broke the deadlock against the run of the play when Gedo, the top striker of the tournament with five goals, was perfectly set up on the left side of the box after a nice one-two and scored with a curling shot past goalkeeper Richard Kingson at the far post. Egyptian players and members of their staff invaded the field at the final whistle while fans lit flares. Striker Mohamed Zidan was blocked by security officers as he tried to reach the stands and was unable to join Egypt's fans in their celebrations.

Mercredi 3 Février 2010 -- L’ancien sélectionneur français Claude Le Roy, aujourd’hui consultant pour plusieurs médias, n’est convaincu par le niveau de l’Egypte. Même si les Pharaons ont remporté la Coupe d’Afrique des nations (CAN) pour la troisième fois consécutive, dimanche dernier, en Angola, en battant le Ghana (1-0), ils n’ont pas montré grand-chose, estime-t-il. « C'est vrai, c'est marrant, l'Egypte a souvent gagné en étant dépassée dans le jeu. Que les gens fassent des grandes analyses après les résultats, c'est toujours facile. Mais l'Egypte n'a pas maîtrisé son sujet comme elle l'a fait dans les autres Coupes d'Afrique des Nations. Je ne pense pas que les Egyptiens étaient au-dessus du lot. La preuve, c'est que le Ghana aurait mérité de gagner la finale. On ne peut pas dire non plus que l'arbitrage a été exceptionnel en demi-finales contre l'Algérie (4-0). À chaque fois, ils ont su parfaitement utiliser les moments d'errements de l'adversaire .», a-t-il déclaré mercredi au journal français L’Equipe.

Bougherra voted best Arab player at CAN

February 8, 2010 -- Algerian international and Glasgow Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra was named best Arab player at the 2010 African Cup of Nations in a new poll, Liberté reported on Monday (February 8th). "Magic" beat Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan and fellow Algerian Karim Ziani to win the most votes from Eurosport readers.

بعد الجدل حول ضربة الجزاء المصرية في دورة أنغولا
شاوشي يغيّر قوانين الفيفا

اعتمدت، أول أمس، لجنة القوانين ''بورد'' قوانين تنفيذ ضربات الترجيح خلال المباريات، ومنعت رسميا كل لاعب من التوقّف أمام الكرة، بعد الركض، للتمويه قبل التسديد.

جاء القرار بعد الجدل الكبير خلال مباراة نصف نهائي كأس أمم إفريقيا 2010 بأنغولا، وتحديدا في مباراة مصر والجزائر، حيث تلقى الحكم البينيني كوفي كوجيا انتقادات من الحارس الجزائري فوزي شاوشي، بسبب اللاّعب المصري حسني عبد ربه، الذي توقف قبل التسديد وترك الحارس الجزائري يختار الزاوية التي يرتمي فيها، قبل أن يسدّد في الزاوية الأخرى.

وينص القانون الجديد على أن أي لاعب يتوقّف أمام الكرة بعد انتهائه من الركض، يتلقى بطاقة صفراء طبقا للمادة ,14 في الوقت الذي يسمح فيه لأي لاعب يكون بصدد تنفيذ ضربة جزاء التوقف قبل الوصول إلى الكرة لتسديدها.

واعتمدت لجنة ''بورد'' الدولية للقوانين في جلستها الأخيرة، قانون توجيه إنذار لأي لاعب يريد التمويه عند تسديد ضربة الجزاء في حركة تسمى ''التوقف القصير''، حيث تم اعتبار ذلك بمثابة خداع وسلوك غير رياضي حتى يتم تسجيل الضربة بسهولة.

وقال باتريك نيلسون، عضو مجلس الاتحاد الدولي للصحفيين ''رأينا بعض النماذج بالفيديو وهي توضح السلوك غير الرياضي حين يتوقف اللاعب بعد الركض ويقوم بالخداع وكأنه يهم بالتسديد، فيتجه الحارس في زاوية ويسدد اللاعب الكرة في الزاوية الأخرى، إنه سلوك غير رياضي تماما''. وأضاف أحد أعضاء اللّجنة أن بعض عروض الفيديو أثارت الضحك في القاعة.

وبتعديل ''الفيفا'' لقوانينها بسبب ما حدث في لقطة تسديد ضربة الجزاء للاّعب المصري حسني عبد ربه أمام الحارس الجزائري فوزي شاوشي، وما تبعه من احتجاجات الحارس الجزائري واللاّعبين، بسبب ''السلوك غير الرياضي'' للاّعب المصري، حين توقف قبل تسديد الكرة وانتظر ارتماءة شاوشي في زاوية ليسدّد الكرة في الزاوية المعاكسة، فإن ذلك يعني بأن الاتحادية الدولية لكرة القدم اعترفت، للمرة الثانية، بأن الجزائر ظلمت وسلب منها حقها في كأس أمم إفريقيا أمام منتخب مصر، بعدما أقرّت قبل 28 سنة، وتحديدا، بعد مونديال إسبانيا 1982، بأن ألمانيا الغربية والنمسا تآمرتا على المنتخب الجزائري، في المباراة الثالثة للمجموعة التي جرت بينهما، كون المنتخبين الألماني والنمساوي اتفقا على ترتيب نتيجة المباراة لصالح الألمان ليضمن المنتخبان التأهّل إلى الدور الثاني على حساب الجزائر التي لعبت مباراتها الثالثة أمام الشيلي قبل 24 ساعة من مباراة ألمانيا الغربية والنمسا.

وسنّت الفيفا قانونا بعد ذلك بجعل كل مباريات الجولة الثالثة في الأدوار الأولى لكل دورة نهائية تلعب في نفس اليوم والتوقيت، لتفادي ترتيب المباريات، واقترن هذا التعديل إلى اليوم بما حدث للمنتخب الجزائري في مونديال إسبانيا وسيظل على ذات الحال إلى الأبد.

قرار تعديل طريقة تسديد ضربات الجزاء خلال المباريات، استنادا لتصرف ''غير الرياضي'' للاّعب المصري، يعتبر أيضا صفعة جديدة من ''الفيفا'' للمنتخب المصري، الذي حصل على مكاسب رياضية أمام الجزائر وحتى قبل مباراة الجزائر في أنغولا، بطرق ليست رياضية.

CAN match goal against Algeria spurs FIFA rule change

May 20, 2010 -- FIFA on Wednesday (May 19th) announced a change to its penalty kick rules. In a statement, the international football body said that any player who pauses at the end of his run before taking the penalty kick will receive a yellow card. The change comes after Egypt's Hosny Abd Rabo paused before taking a penalty kick against Algeria keeper Fawzi Chaouchi during the African Cup of Nations (CAN) semi-final last January in Angola. The point sparked major protests by the Algerian side. The Greens ended up losing the match 4-0.
