    Thumbs up

    Salaam Everyone,

OK, I thought of this idea which I think is a great way to, not only keep fit, but also aim higher by measuring your abilities against other sporty members of the forum

We start by a list of useful exercises - with some explanation if required, then set your record of reps, speed, distance, weight...etc (depending on the type of exercise) then that way you will know what you have achieved so far and then we can/try to beat each others records each time.

I'll start with some basic most practiced exercises and I'll set fairly low reps (I think) to begin with, then we can build up from there. OK, how about:

    Press-ups: 30

    Sit-ups: 30

    Chin-ups: 10

Maybe lower targets should be set for the women? or maybe not...surprise me!

As we go along, you can introduce other exercises and set your challenge for others to try and beat your record.

    Ready...Set...Go!

P.S. for your own benefit as well as others, no cheating's allowed. Thank you!

    Salam Khoya,

This is an excellent idea. Welakeen, with all honesty, I can not manage 30 press ups in one go- so I’m opting for 10~ pathetic I know, but you do say honesty .

But the chin ups- I won’t manage as I don’t have that machine in my gym ~ so that’s out of the question.

I’m pleased to announce the sit ups will be ok

So how many times a weeks?

Please don’t say twice a day

    Wa Salam

    Salaam sis,

LOL...mmm...I thought so. OK, we'll separate the women's from the men's competition as it's done normally.

As for how many times a week, you can make your own programme to suit yourself. The aim is to give yourself a new target each time. So now for example, you can try going for 11 press-ups and thus creating a new record for Algeria.com Women's Press-ups .

    So we have:

    Women's Press-ups:
    1/ Houda - 10 reps

Target to beat is: 10 (Come on girls )

You didn't say how many sit-ups you can do Houda?
It's ok for the Chin-ups. Just do the exercises you can do, or maybe you want to add a new exercise you'd like to improve.

LOL...oh no Ruks. Only proper press-ups will count. That's why I've put the pic to show how it's done Surely you can do one or two at least? That's fine. You'll do more as you practice
Just out of curiosity, how do you do girlie press-ups?

It sounds like you can do more sit-ups Houda. Go for it!

Ok, this morning I did 33 press-ups but I did not push to the limit so I still can go higher.

    But so far we have:

    Men's Press-ups:
    1/ Yours faithfully - 33 reps

    Women's Press-ups:
    1/ Houda - 10 reps

    Women's Sit-ups:
    1/ Houda - 30 reps

I would like to introduce 3 more:

    # Basketball Penalty Free Throws:

How many times can you score non-stop consecutive penalty shoots?

    Meriem...up for this one?

    # Skipping:

For how long (time) can you skip non-stop?

    # Football Juggling: - I'm useless at this one

How many times can you hit the ball not allowing it to touch the ground?

    Allez allez guys!
