Algiers - NA Hussein Dey are through to the second round of the Arab champions league after their win, Monday evening at the 5th July stadium (Algiers), by the smallest of margins against Ittihad Tripoli (Libya).
A goal from Maghraoui on 28 minutes sealed the fate of the match in the first half. In the first leg, contested in Tripoli, NAHD won 2 goals to 1.
All Samir Alliche’s team mates, the captain, had to do was launch attacks from time to time that had merit to put the Libyan defence in great trouble.
In the second half, Ittihad’s attempts to even the score proved vain up against NAHD’s defence and goalkeeper Ousserir, definitely best player on the field.
NAHD, playing without two of its key-players, defender Toufik Kabri and striker Yacef Hamza, both injured, went through difficult times during this match, especially after sending off of their captain on 74 minutes and Nezlioui two minutes later. The Algerians could still have scored two more goals if only Libyan goal Abboud failed to be alert.
The score remained unchanged until final whistle blown by Egyptian Mohamed Sayed, who nonetheless counted 7 minutes of stoppage time for a match followed by a poor audience (5,000 spectators).
MCA vs. El Mohriq (Bahrain) on Wednesday
Algiers - Algiers football team MCA are playing against El Mohriq (Bahrain) Wednesday at the 5 July sports complex in their second leg of the Arab champions league.
The 1-0 winners in the first leg in Manama, thanks to a goal from striker Brahim Chaouch, the leaders of the Algerian first league are determined to join NAHD in the second round of this competition.
However, coach Abderahmane Mehdaoui is expecting a difficult match against opponents who will obviously have nothing to lose playing with their full line-up.

Just to update:
All 3 Algerian teams made it to the group stage (MCA tied 2-2 with Al Muharraq to make it). In the group stage, NAHD tied 1-1 with Wydad Amal Casablanca (WAC), the top team in Morocco this year. The game was in Alger. MCA lost 5-0 to Zamalek in Cairo. Their coach got fired after the game. ES Setif play Ittihad Jeddah Christmas day i think.

Why do we need to be in this Arab Champions League? I can't see the Spanish being in a Latin Champions League, the English in an English Champions League, the Portuguese in a Portuguese Champions League etc. We should content ourselves with the domestic league and the African Champions League full stop. Anything else should be organised on a friendly basis only.
The Arab League is another useless waste of money organisation which should be scrapped although I'd prefer it if Algeria withdrew from it.
