Borussen on international duty
Forced to withdraw from the Czech Republic’s friendly against Slovenia: Tomas Rosicky.
Jan Koller and Tomas Rosicky have been called up by the Czech Republic for the match against Slovenia. Rosicky, however, was forced to withdraw from Karel Brückner´s squad due to his ongoing hamstring problems. Niclas Jensen will play for Denmark in a 2006 World Cup qualifier against Greece, and Guy Demel has been included in the Ivory Coast´s squad for the game against the Republic of Congo in France. André Bergdölmo, however, has no international duty this time around, because Norway aren´t playing next week. Borussia´s other foreign players, Ebi Smolarek (Poland) and Ahmed Madouni (Algeria), also can look forward to a travel-free week. Sahr Senesie is very likely to be included in Germany´s U20 squad, and Markus Brzenka is in line to be called up to one of Germany´s U-squads.

Madaouni given permission to play for Algeria
ALGIERS, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Algeria have been granted permission to use former French youth international Mohamed Reda Madaouni in future matches, the Algerian Football Federation has announced.
Madaouni, who plays for German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, is the latest player to be granted permission by FIFA to change his international status, bringing to five the number of former French junior internationals who now qualify for the north African country.
French-born Nader Belhadji, Samir Beloufa, Abdelnasser Ouaddah and Anter Yahia have all been called-up to play for Algeria over the last year.
Madaouni, 24, has not been selected for Algeria's friendly against Burkina Faso in Algiers on Wednesday but coach Ali Fergani told a news conference that the player would be considered for the World Cup qualifier against Rwanda on March 25.
Algeria have yet to win a match in their World Cup qualifying group and lie at the bottom of the standings.

-Borussia Dortmund defender, Ahmed Reda Madouni, is still being linked with Arsene Wenger and Arsenal, in their search for a new defender. Madouni, who has yet to play a game for Algeria, has also been linked to French side Bordeaux. The defender, another French junior team member, announced earlier in the year that he will join the Algerian NT and take advantage of the new nationality rules. The player has featured just 8 times for Dortmund, scoring one goal, in a season that has been marred by injury.

Madouni ignores Algeria
Defender Ahmed Madouni, granted permission last month to play for Algeria, will not make his international debut against Rwanda on Sunday. Officials said the Borussia Dortmund defender had asked to be excluded from international games for the time being. He is struggling for a first-team place with the German clubside, where he is coming to the end of his contract. Madouni successfully applied for permission to change his international status, after being capped at junior level by France. Algeria, who were World Cup finalists in 1982 and 1986, are seeking their first group win in the qualifying campaign for the 2006 finals. They are at the bottom of Group Four and are eight points adrift of leaders Angola.
