Algerian Djamel Belmadi Completes Trials with Celtic
    08/07/2005
    Belmadi

Former Manchester City midfielder Djamel Belmadi has been offered a contract with Glasgow Celtic after a successful tryout.

Former Manchester City coach Asa Hartford said, "He wasn't with us long, but his ability was never in doubt. He has two great feet and a tremendous shot, so he would be good business for Celtic. He is always liable to score you a goal and he likes to take men on, so he's the type of player fans like to watch. As with any player who has played with the bigger clubs in Europe, he has an intelligence which helps him adapt to whatever style he's asked to play."

Belmadi has also played for Paris St Germain, Celta Vigo and Marseille. (Tribalfootball.com)
