Here's something of an update for tours to Roman Algeria.

At present there is only one British tour operator who is actually running tours to Algeria (there are several that advertise departures but, because of the political situation, they are not carrying out the programmes): ACE Study Tours.

I know this because, through my company, Culturissima, I have researched and devised this tour, which first ran in April this year and will run again in October.

Next year, all going well, we will offer an extended itinerary that, as well as taking in the Roman sites, will head down south to El Oued and Ghardaia.

For anyone pondering a trip to Algeria, my advice is: go! I have worked in the travel business for many years, and it is easily my favourite destination: the most exciting, the most rewarding and the warmest people! And the best hint? Go in spring, when the wild flowers are stunning, absolutely mind-boggling in their beauty.
