    Question

    On one of the websites it stated that Algeria remains one of the most dangerous places as a travel destination..is this true? I never believe everything that I read, and after reading most of the messages posted here, I can sense the kindness of Algerian people, so have you heard anything about this comment that is being made? I wanted some opinions from people who live there in Algeria.

    ALGERIA IS NOT DANGEROUS AND THE THINGS THAT HAPPEN SOMETIMES CAN HAPPEN IN ANY COUNTRY.
    WE HEAR ABOUT KILLIGS IN THE USA TOO....BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT IS NOT SAFE.
    ALGERIA IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL AND SAFE COUNTRY

    Mirnet, are the stories we get from the major media outlets bogus? In them Algeria is pictured as a highly dangerous place for Westerners to visit. Some news agencies tend to make us think there is a bandit or terrorist on every block of every town. Of course, we don't believe everything we hear or read, but is none of the reports true? salaam

    I'M NOT SAYING THAT WHAT WE HEAR SOMETIMES IS BOGUS....BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT WHERE EVER YOU GO IN ALGERIA YOU WILL FIND TERRORIST WAITING FOR YOU TO KILL U .
    YOU SHOULD VISIT ALGERIA AND SEE IF IT IS
    SAFE OR NOT !!!!!

    Mirnet I do agree with what you say concerning dangerous cities in the USA, certainly there are many. I have always wanted to visit Algeria and other African countries as well. However, at this point my only consolation is to see them on websites or in a magazine. I did not mean to say that Algeria IS dangerous, but I wanted to get some input from someone who may live there. I have not given up on my dream of coming, I wanted to know how will the people receive me as an american. I am very sure that it is a wonderful place..one thing is sure..it is very beautiful in pictures...Bye bye..Have a nice day

    i'm algerian and i live in saudi arabia .
    i go every year to algeria ,i stay outside sometimes to 12:00pm and nothing happens...
