I wonder, if the Prophet [SAAW], peace and blessings be upon him, would approve of women being excluded in many aspects of life, even before the Holy Ka’bah! I wonder if He [SAAW] would approve of the irrational men trying to interrupt a group of sister's Salat for no valuable reason.
I refuse to keep quiet about the unjust and un-Islamic treatment of sisters by the men with the big beards and trousers above their ankles standing by the doors of the Masjid – refusing to even talk about why they prohibit us from entering the House of Allah.
How dare they tell us we are not “allowed” to enter simply because we are women! How dare we let them give us a small, cramped unattractive room whilst they have the chandelier lit room. And how dare we listen and allow them to exclude us from such a privilege, to pray in congregation with our Muslim Ummah. It should be one community, one Ummah coming together in unity and harmony for the sake of Our Creator, Allah [SWT].

I agree with you khti Houda, there should always be a sizeable area within the masjid for the sisters to pray in. But to be honest, here in UK the masaajid are usually a converted house, a very small community centre, or a student hall,... its difficult to find a spot to pray sometimes, especially on fridays.
I would like to also remind you sis, of the hadeeth of the prophet pbuh which says, it is better for women to pray in their houses, and even better within their bedrooms,.... and Allah knows best, they get rewarded for following the sunnah of the prophet pbuh.
However, I want to make it very clear that this hadeeth does not say women cannot go to the mosque. One of the mosques I go to has a whole basement floor + a ground floor room for the sisters to pray in, and we have the large ground floor area and the first floor too.
Salam,
Khokom.

Salam I lived to See how it is a mess for Sisters abroad not to be allowed to Enter a mosque but only in few ones ,of course because they had no room for women and mixing was not allowed..
I however found that action as harsh as it could be ,gave a very bad results upon long beard daawa Muslim brothers ..who go 4 months and pray etc...but because of their filthy attitude forbidding their daughters from attending the mosque ,few went to clubs..I was shocked to see this switch and how ironic and low it is..
however sisters should kindly ask a permission and a room for them to pray without involving wrong ones on this matte that will only bring shame on all!
as we can see women's right and feminism and tony Blair ,jack chirac ,bush ,Knesset ,digital vampire ,voltaire priest ,super mod and other sectarians all may be involved ..and it will only damage the image of the whole Islam ,just because few sisters wish to ask with a wrong way
and wrong people ..."other personage were added as a humour no offense"
before this get too religious and it is concerning women's in Islam..
Did Umar (ra) ban women from mosque?

We are a masjid that does not have a curtain, according to the sunnah.
A few people are insisting that we put a curtain. Part of their argument is that Umar (ra) banned women from the mosque, so we should put a curtain.

Also, the man who refused the sisters to enter the mosque you said has a big beard and wears nisf el saaq, he might be wrong, but we should not describe our brothers who may have made a mistake from their sunnah appearance, as this is the apearance of the prophet pbuh.
It is difficult as it is to maintain that appearance in a western country like this, from the stereotyping they are subjected to.
The sisters should raise this issue with the commitee and insha'Allah try and arrive to a solution. Maybe the brother was refusing to let the sisters enter from there because it's the men's entrance, maybe there is a different entrance for the sisters.
What I really hate to see is both women and men entering at the same time from the same entrance.
