A television documentary team has pieced together details surrounding the case of a 16-year-old girl, executed two years ago in Iran.
Atefah Sahaaleh: wrongly described as being 22 years old
On 15 August, 2004, Atefah Sahaaleh was hanged in a public square in the Iranian city of Neka.
Her death sentence was imposed for "crimes against chastity".
The state-run newspaper accused her of adultery and described her as 22 years old.
But she was not married - and she was just 16.

the man that abused her should have been hanged down!
and what did she do then??
this is what the article says was DONE TO HER!
"Former revolutionary guard, 51-year-old Ali Darabi - a married man with children - raped her several times.
She kept the relationship a secret from both her family and the authorities."
poor girl!

Well what do we understand from this programme?
Let me tell you that first of all, the Irani regime does not rule using the correct Islamic shari3ah, its a shiah government. Islam brought justice, what I saw yesterday was not justice.
Secondly, why this programme now? The west is beginning to build a case against Iran to attack it, its trying to gain public support, its doing exactly the same as it did with Iraq. They also showed programmes about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction, and how Saddam attacked the Kurds..etc etc.
The media will continue to use this strategy until the weak minded surrender and you will hear in the streets "yes we have to change the regime in Iran, Tony Blair should attack Iran", the polls will show 75% are in favour of a war against Iran.
Its called the propaganda war, I dont fall for it. Why not show us how girls are raped in America or here in Britain, why not do a programme on Craig Sweeney, the paedophile who assaulted and abused a 3month old baby?
Ah no, but we are not building a case against Britain here. You will be seeing programmes on Syria soon as well.

Some good points Kho
but ...
It gets back to my premise about truly civilised people valuing human life above ALL else. In this respect, I do not regard ANY country with a death penalty as civilised.
In civilised countries the woman is not hanged for being raped, and children are never put to death. Algeria does not hang a raped woman or a child.
Even in Iran I suspect that children are never KNOWINGLY (by the authorities) put to death, which is why the control freaks had to lie that she was 22. The authorities claim the death penalty is their choice, then they should carry out the checks to make sure children are protected from this.
The problem is that where a death penalty exists, there is always room for error. One innocent person put to death, is one too many.
Just my opinion ...
Ladies - any comments?

Salam Mourad,
The problem in this case is not the death penalty. We can discuss what shariah law says about punishing the rapist and the adulterer another time. I have already explained that Iran's system is different in many ways. We can also discuss why a Shariah solution is THE solution to such social issues (with factual evidence).
The main problem in this case is the CORRUPTION of the individuals applying the Iran version of law. A man does not go unpunished while the woman is punished, remember Islam brought JUSTICE. Why are they punished in the first place? Where is the evidence of what really happened? Wheres the evidence she is 22? etc etc.
Also bear in mind, the programme makers have an agenda remember. So dont accept everything you read/watched/heard.
I am sure you read on the newspapers whats happening with Craig Sweeney's case. The judicial system has escape holes for paedophiles, numourous times sickos like him are set free to continue their assaults. It hasnt even reduced the problem, its on the increase.
There are many stories of lawers themselves, even judges where found guilty. A couple of police officers raped a woman few months ago as well, it made the news. The police force has failed in the Stephen Lawrence case, they didnt give it any attention etc etc.
Again, we dont see programmes on the above because we are not going to launch a war on Britain are we?
I dont want to step outside the topic Mourad, but I feel it is necessary to look at the overall picture and think outside the box.

Here's another double standard
Iran girl gets 100 lashes for sex
The girl was sentenced to 100 lashes because her accusations of rape and kidnap could have landed her partners a death penalty, the Tehran judge said.

The point being, that the law is useless BECAUSE it is wide open to abuse.
If a law cannot be enforced fairly because of human weakness then it is NOT WORTH HAVING! IMO.
Regarding paedophiles, I think they should locked up FOREVER!

Mourad,
Its not only human weakness but human-law weakness... how can you tell me that a man can make a law for another man. The best law is the law that brings justice and fairness... and the people enforcing it have to be scholars at the peak of intellectuality, faith, intelligence and morality.
If you give somebody a choice between life (inside a prison) and death which one would he choose?Regarding paedophiles, I think they should locked up FOREVER!
There are two wrongs with your statement.
A) The west with all its intellectuals and judges and "lords" did not come up with such an acceptable and understandable punishment "a paedophile being locked up FOREVER". What makes you think they will ever bring this into effect.
B) Putting a paedophile in prison FOREVER will not stop paedophilia... a paedophile will continue to assault and abuse children when in his mind hes thinking "its worth it, I get to go to prison, I get food, internet, pooltables, skysports, and all kinda other entertainment".
I wont give you the alternative Mourad, I think you have excluded any knowledge on Islam and deprived your mind from it before exploring it, I am not asking you to accept its message, I am asking you to read and understand the WHAT/WHY/HOW of Islam particularly Shariah Law (since this is what we always touch on).
Atleast take it from a general knowledge angle and dont approach it with negative prejudgements because if you do that you will not benefit. You are intelligent enough to analyse and comprehend what all this big huge issue thats shaking the world, always making the headlines, always under the spotlight, called Islam.
