Salam
So here is the situation. My fiance is coming over for dinner tonight because of my fathers 'kind last minute notice invitation'. I know the guy and everything and i am comfortable with him. But since its ramadan im kind of having a outfit crisis. Do i wear a jaba/bideya? or wear the usual jeans and top? or even a skirt?
Any advice would be much appreciated
thnx

Don't need to wear Djeba/Bedaya!! just be classy but understated, a nice skirt and a simple top would do I would have thought...
I wouldn't wear jeans unless it's really an informal thing, you don't want to be too dressed up either 'cos you might make you filance uncofrtable if he comes in jeans!
Good luck.Nectar77

Don't pretend in front of your finacee. If you normally wear a gandorra/abaya wear that. If you normally wear jeans ~ wear that. Don't wear something that you normally don't wear, because you're giving him a sort of false front.
What do you normally wear during Ramadan ? If it's not modest, i.e your top is fitted and not long enough to cover your assets then I sugest a longer top over your jeans.
Personally, I think jeans are fine. Besides, it's ramadan so you have to dress with modesty and less atractive attire anyway.
Your finacee is marrying you for who you are not what you have in your wardrobe.
Personally, I would wear an abaya, but only because this is what I wear out of work.

Thnx guys, lol you both have given me different answers so im a bit confused. Houda i usually wera pjs at home so that out the window, i dont wear abaya at work and i dont think abaya is apropriate at home .So im kind of between jeans and tunic or nice algerian dress ive got (not 2 flash). The guy knows i wear jeans (although he aint keen on the idea lol). Obviously im not getting over dressed up as its not that kind of dinner.
So jeans and tunic?
Or jeba?

Clearly, our ganorras are some what different. We would NEVER wear them to work.
You've taken my advice slightly ~ jeans and a long top = tunic
Hope the evening goes well for you both ISA.Last edited by HOUDA-K; 26th September 2006 at 13:14.
