Oh I love Hammams...Nothing better than a good old scrub
when I went home this time for Ramadhan, we used to go on the evenings..It was soooo relaxing. I used to sleep like a baby..
Unfortunately, No hammams here in London. Apart from the odd steam rooms and Saunas obviously... maaliche..

The Hamam I knew in casablanca (old ) where you sit in a large steam room and relax and pay a lady who comes and massages your body with a special glove all your body , it is an exfoliating massage that gets your skin gleaming after that . the steam cleans the pores of the face , and you get after the bath you get to feel very relaxed and sleepy too . but if you find it crowded , you have to bear it .
Hated the experience as a child and swore i would never put myself in that situation once im an adult .

therea re private hammams now with your own special room , and comfort and mattress to relax and beautiful parlour to do a facial , and your hair too , and you get to order a drink (cold or hot ) while watching tv too (in casablanca )

most of the time i do it myself , i only get my back cleaned by the lady .

When i visit mom in Algeria , we almost fight because i refuse to go to the Hammam and before she mentions the world she would find me already finished with my bath so now she gave up . having a bath at home is not a good experience for mom , it is like punishment for her (she even have a new fancy brand new bathroom too now )

okay, i'm gonna have to plan this "hammam trip" more thoroughly... i have to go when no one is there - cuz i do not want to see any body parts, and then i have to tell them people to keep their hands off me.... double ew... *shudder*
