I think you guys have overlooked a lot of information from the article and focused only at applying modesty at moment of birth.
The article talks about having a 'birth plan' with the doctor during the checkups prior to delivery. It encourages communication with the doctors and nurses about Muslim traditions so they become aware of what behaviors may arise during and after the child is born.
(i.e: reciting the Athan in the ear of the baby, praying, requesting doctors to knock before entering since the patient may not be covered, etc)
teaching the hospital staff about the Muslim values of privacy and modesty in the months prior to delivery will solve most of the worries about modesty at and after delivery.
because when giving birth, as Houda says, it'll be the last thing on a Muslim woman's mind.
It seems as if one fails to conceive
The meaning my name strives to achieve
To a biological form you cannot relate-
Because a reproductive cell is a gamete not gamate!
It means to unite, -to become consolidated
So without me in a.com, is there hope we'd be amalgamated?
