    Strange

    This may sound a little stupid but do algerian men usually call thier friends (male) 'habibi'? I find that really strange for some reason

    lol, not just Algerian men, habibty --- ALL Arab men LOL...

    habibi nowadays is slang for "homie" or "buddy"... it's not really used in conversation for it's real meaning
