In the Qur'an, Allah says:
"When My servants ask about Me, I am indeed close to them. I listen to the prayer of every supplicant, when he calls on Me.
Let them also, with a will, listen to My call, and believe in Me, so that they may walk in the right way" (Qur'an 2:186).

Please see extract taken from the government home office website.
Husbands, wives and partners (INF 4)
How do I qualify to join my husband, wife or civil partner in the UK?
You must show that:
• you are legally married to each other or are in a civil partnership recognised in the UK
• your husband, wife or civil partner is present and settled in the UK (see the next section)
• you both intend to live together permanently as husband and wife or as civil partners
• you have met each other before
You will obviously need to prove this!! As with all the other requirements and hence provide evidence which demonstrates an on going relationship
• you can support yourselves and any dependants without any help from public funds
• you have suitable accommodation, which is owned or lived in only by you and your household, and where you and your dependants can live without any help from public funds
• your husband, wife or civil partner is not under 18, and
• you are not under 18.
You will need proof of an on going relationship. Are you married yet? All of this is evidence to support you application demonstrating your marriage/relationship is genuine. Nothing is a necessity however as I mentioned previously if you take the bare minimum they may refuse you on the grounds of not having enough evidence as it is the discretion of the Entry Clearance Office therefore it is advisable to take as much evidence you possibly can. Any letters from professional family members is better than having nothing at all!!!! And as you mentioned you have very little proof of an on going relationship.
