Wherever possible you should use organic products. Many of the chemicals/synthetic ingredients used, even in brand name products, are not good for you.

It is advisable to avoid the following: Parabens (Methyl, Propyl, Butyl and Ethyl), Propylene Glycol (PEG), Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate, DEA, TEA, MEA, Diazolidinyl Urea, Imidazolidinyl Urea, PVP/VA Copolymer, Stearalkonium Chloride, Synthetic Colours, Synthetic Fragrances (Parfum), Pthalates, TAlc, EDTA, Petrolatum, Lead, Nonylphenols and Phenylenediamine.

I have a severe allergy to Phenylenediamine I ended up in hospital....... It amazed me how many products it is used in, I would never have imagined before my horrid allergic ordeal; this allergy then triggered me to be sensitized to other similar chemical compounds…so I quite agree with you.

However I was under the impression that the usage of phtalates were banned in cosmetics; I know it has restricted usage in fabric, banned in leather tanning but I am quite sure for cosmetic use it is also banned…..

for some weird reasons , I did buy the imitation of my favourite perfume , but i do not use it on myself but sometimes i use it as a air freshner . I have had it for 4 years now and now and then i spray it around my bedroom and walking closet . may be the cheap bottle put me off a little .

Aldi (if you have one close by ) Have some Nice eau de toilette very reasonable to stock on to offer as gifts .
Im sure there are people in the family you want to offer designer perfumes to , but for the others cheaper stuff will be welcomed too . otherwise it would be too expensive .
