Hello,
This is a call for help from any British woman who has married in Algeria and worked through the paperwork!
I know all the docs we need to apply for authority to get married, but am unsure as to whether or not the docs need legalising by the FCO. Is this the case? If so, how long did it take to get the papers legalised when they have been sent to the FCO?
I will be heading back to Algeria at the end of July, so will obviously need to get organised if they do need legalising!
Any advice appreciated.

I think it is required, but I'm not sure, we got everything stamped by the FCO just incase. I'm pretty sure it has on the website how long it takes by post... and I think it takes about a day if someone takes them in by hand.

Thanks. Will do it anyway. Might give the FCO a call to see the timescales. Wanted to get all docs sent to Algeria and translated before I arrived just to give us maximum police interview time in the 2 weeks I am out there.
Thanks again for the info. All advice is gratefully appreciated at the moment!
