Yes, it is popular in Morocco. I have had a couple made in to go underneath my Djellaba’s, which can also be worn just on it’s own to.
As for the tarz { embroidery }in the image, the style is very old and will never go out of fashion. It kinda reminds me table cloths and napkins.

No, not this year. Besides, I always try and avoid going in the high season when you get the usual Europeans going in summer.
As for the above, it's definately a Jabador, as it's the style of the trousers.
