Genes that determine ginger hair have always been linked to pain aetiology.

What I know however is that it has always been thought ginger people feel more pain and require larger doses of analgesics! probably because they have an abundance of melanocortin receptors, which, if studied should provide an advanced understanding of pain pathology and an explanation of the variation.

I'm a natural blonde. I don't know about all the scientific stuff, but I think a lot of people from the northen hemisphere all have some 'red' in them.

Interestingly, on the point, I saw a tall, ginger-haired guy in Tizi-Ouzou. Turned out he was born there.
