    Question Abayas

I'm not a huge fan of abayas. My body looks like a tent and I don't know where my waist has gone to. Not bad if your expecting.

Your comments please. Any any DECENT styles, cuts etc much appreaciated.

ah! i SO know what you mean... even with the abayas that have decent cuts, as u say, i never find one my size... .

But found one in syria - just my size and *perfect*. It's light blue () bas it has a pair of rabtas (ties) on the sides so you can adjust it to your size... i'll try and find a pic of it...

oh yeah, and what bothers me the most about abaya shopping is that the store owners make the abayas look so nice in the windows (they pin some of it back so it can look like it has shape) and then when you go in to try it on, it's even worse than a tent

$500 that this is pinned back:

how can one fix an abaya that's meant to be baggy... you can't just seam the gown thinner, it's a bit more complicated than that. I got a long shirt from sham, (it looked stunning on the dummy) but i wore it here a couple times and realized how excessively long it is. we can't shorten it just a smidgen because there are beads decorating the bottom! it's hopeless

yeah... you can't really modify a 3abayeh unless it's really plain or something... and even then, i don't have time to, and neither does my mom

The ones in Dubai are awful too - all black and to much black is depressing. I saw some nice ones in Jeddah.
